a couple more for good measure...

Getting ready for The Weeknd

Really getting into the smooth R&B with an electronic nightbus approach... The whole EP is good... really good... But it'll take a few go arounds for the tracks to resonate. Immediate favorites are "House of Balloons" & "The Morning"... next up are "Coming Down" and "The Party & the After Party" and "Loft Music"... shit the whole thing is good... what are you waiting for!?!

Update: two more mixtapes to be turned out this year with some sort of drake collab +++ this guy is one to keep your ears on... enjoy!

CFCF - Do you like nightbust?

Never mind the slow intro... This thing mutates into a raw BEAST! Living in this older yet incredible CFCF mixtape right now and loving it... its like Salem x Hood x Ambient Chillwave x a little extra inexplicable goodness

Orchard Lounge | Bethany Lokken | I Hear You. by lokkenic

Orchard Lounge is a dj collective consisting of husband/wife duo Spencer & Bethany Lokken together with Ben Silver. This is the first that I've heard of them, but I'm gonna do a little more digging and expect to find good things... tbc.

Bag Raiders - Turbo Love (Jan Driver Remix)

This one deserves to be played loud. It came up randomly in my itunes and reminded me that I need to give this blog a little more love. more to come soon.

new post!

first up is a squelchy club monster... you'll need a little bit of patience as the first two minutes build, but the rest is a pseudo Chromeo meets jackhouse meets RaRaRiot treat.... guaranteed to get the booty poppin
Ra Ra Riot - Can You Tell (The Kids Are Radioactive Remix) by The Kids Are Radioactive

the next one feels like a sort of futuristic rebirth... like I envision myself walking through the gates of heaven and looking around and taking in all of the amazingness while listening to this song... not sure how or why... Is that weird?

Metronomy - She Wants

David's Lyre - Pearson Sound Remix

This first track is what caught my ear... building into a tamborine laden deep bass groove that is incredibly infectious, and prompted an immediate binge of both David's Lyre and Pearson Sound (aka Ramadanman aka David Kennedy - see his remix of Jamie Woon's Night Air here)... this one won't leave you thirsty...

After that trip, I had to get more info on David's Lyre, who I have found out shys away from house and deep groove tracks and is more based in folktronica, which I can also dig...

you can dload an EP of nice remixes for free at his bandcamp here

The Holidays + Javelin

Time to get poptropical... I just listed to both in a row and feel like I just had one of those Willy Wonka candies that taste like a full meal... although instead of a full meal it was an epic dream/party. It seriously feels like I had a full day of perfect surf and am now relaxing on the beach with a cold beer and a bunch of buds watching the sunset... drinking in the warmth of life. Thank you Holidays & Javelin.
